Success Story

Malligammma is a resident of Lakkur and has a family of three members. Malligammma is a resident of Lakkur and has a family of three members. She was using the regular ole (oven) for cooking, which always used to fill her kitchen with smoke. As a result of using the ole, she had developed a respiratory infection, and a cough that was getting worse everyday.

Her infection and the underlying cause were detected during a visit of our Mobile Health Clinic to her village. She came to know about Sarala Ole in the health education session organised by BCCHI in her Self Help Group. She immediately came forward to take up the construction of Sarala Ole when offered an opportunity.

Malligamma is grateful to BCCHI and its staff for introducing the compact, fuel efficient stove to her. According to Malligamma-This sarala ole is a big boon to the rural women After informing this program in our SHG, I took up constructing of this ole. After seeing construction of my oles, 85 sarala oles were constructed in our village. All the rural women should make use of this program. We are grateful to BCCHI as well as the donor for giving such a beautiful boon to us and making cooking a joy as there is no smoke & we also save time as it is fuel efficient. She is also thankful to the Trust for curing her persistent cough.
