Provide residential care for a girl child for 1 month, INR 1700
 Mail

In traditional societies, a girl child faces multiple challenges. In order to give girls a platform to seek equal opportunities, a small step has been initiated by ACCESS to carefully select vulnerable girls and provide a safe environment that stimulates opportunities for the development of their personalities. A girl child, particularly from a single parent , is provided a safe environment in a foster home. These girls are provided all basic needs for physical nourishment and sent to good schools for education and nurturing their talent. 1 caretaker at the Centre monitors the growth of these kids and assist them in their emotional development. The girls take part in running of the home and participate in all the duties to make the place a joyful home to live in. They are engaged in activities that enable them to understand the needs of others too. The goal is to enable the girls to have a life of dignity, growth and development. The girls are in the age group of 9 to 16 years. Except for a couple of girls most are either single parent children or the ones whose parents cannot afford to look after them.

Educating the child for active participation
Child Rebecca is one of the three children to a single parent family encountering numerous obstacles and difficulties to have decent living. Lack of sufficient income made the family to live in a one-room home with depleting conditions. Going to school was a burden, as the mother could not afford the expenses that normally came with good education.
When Rebecca was registered with ACCESS sponsorship program, a new hope dawned on her and the family. Year after year the Rebecca’s schools fees partly was paid by ACCESS. Books and uniforms too were given. When their house was too bad due to heavy rains, ACCESS organized additional funds to repair the home so that Rebecca, her older sister, younger brother and their mother would live in a better safe environment.
Now Rebecca is in college and enjoying her studies. Her sister who is also a volunteer at the project is working. Their economic situation has improved to the extent that they are above the poverty level. Their mother too works as housemaid. Rebecca also takes active part in the ACCESS Youth Leadership program and is part of the core team organizing events for the youth and teens. She also facilitates sessions for the teens in various topics.
