The poor & needy people at Boral & surrounding four villages did not bother about health because they were hard-pressed to eke out a living. They did not know about the services made available by the Government free of cost to ward off common disease. They also were ignorant about preventive practices.

ERDS health worker spread awareness about health services available at health centre. The health worker made aware parents/guardians of preventive practices to protect health from common disease and attack from malaria, water borne diseases and particularly emphasized on, immunization, TT to pregnant mothers and other vaccinations.

The mothers of five villages are now taking active interest to immunize their children; pregnant mothers are approaching the health centre for TT and taking iron tablets to ward off anemia. They have also become quite conscious of sanitation & hygiene. The general approach towards health is gradually undergoing a change.
