Abandoned HIV+ infants and children get a new life
Pinki was born HIV+ for no fault of hers! The HIV+ children are unwanted by the families of the mother as well as potential parents seeking adoption. The educational institutions deny them admissions. The children are social pariahs with nowhere to turn to for help, hope and for life itself. Snehasha is dedicated to such deprived people especially from the low-income group, regardless of their caste, creed, religion, language, region, sex, age. In view of her delicate health, Snehalaya’s Snehasha deputed a full-time care-giver to nurture Pinky. She nursed the baby with extraordinary motherly love for this deprived infected child at death’s doors, assuring her future as a normal child, without any discrimination. Pinky’s physical, mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs are taken care of free-of-cost. She is in very good health now, very cheerful and loves to hug the legs of all visitors. On completion of her education, her marriage with a carefully screened partner will are also arranged by Snehalaya, as per her wishes. Pinki has flowered and bloomed from infancy to childhood. She now weighs 10.4 kg and joyfully plays with her best friend Raju – an HIV positive child. She speaks boldly with all visitors. In Snehasha, she will continue to flourish and mature into a responsible citizen - in spite of being orphaned or having being born in the slums, in the red light areas, or to raped or unwed mothers.

 Sweety gets a new life
Sweety was born in 2001 and orphaned in Kopargaon when her mother expired. Her other parent is unknown. A good Samaritan handed her over to Snehalaya at the tender age of six, saving her from the horrors that could have befallen a defenseless child in the dangerous environment where she was born. Sweety was well looked after in the Sneha Balgruha and provided free-of-cost food, clothing, shelter, medications, toiletries education, extra-curricular activities facilities including sports, picnics, educational trips to ensure that she grows up as normal human beings without any social stigma. On realizing her aptitude for sports, she was encouraged to participate in various competitive sports including martial arts tournaments. Sweety loves to take part in dramas, enjoys experimenting with different roles, and likes singing and dancing. She currently studies in the 7th standard. Her favorite subjects are English and History. Her thoughts are distinctly different. She likes to get off the beaten path and blaze her own trail in uncharted waters. She desires to do something radically different from other grown-up girls, and thereby honor her Snehalaya family with her hard-earned fame. She will surely succeed in achieving her ambitions and will flourish and mature into a responsible citizen - in spite of having been an orphaned with a dark past.
