A small effort to reduce school dropouts
Agnes Mary is in Grade 4 in St. Euphrasia School, Bangalore. Her mother is an asthma patient, inspite of that she works as a housemaid. Her father is a painter and hardly contributes any money for the household expense. Agnes is a very bright student. Maria Seva Sangha agreed to pay her school fees, books, uniform etc, at St. Euphriasia Girls Primary school at Bangalore so that the girl can continue her education atleast till Grade 10. Agnes Mary is studying in Grade 4 this year and maria seva sangha will continue to sponsor her till Grade 10. We have another scheme called Educational scholarship scheme which provides for higher education, technical education etc. which can be used for her future education.

Children - investment of the future
Poor under nourished children generally from Bangalore slums go without mid day meals since their parents are either too poor or do not have time / resources to prepare even a small meal for them. This results in poor performance / health and leads to school drop outs Our mid day meal commenced in 1987 with just 50 children in one school. Today the total number of children provided with mid day meals is 2200 in 14 schools Over the years we have observed that the attendance of these children has improved and the drop-out rate has fallen considerably. The success of this programme has been appreciated by the concerned school principals
