Mission/Vision
With society, towards serenity. Vision 2020 is 1 million youth trained through Unnati model by year 2020

Background
The trust was formed in the year 1993 with the focus on promoting culture and providing educational assistance to the needy.

I A Padmanabhan alias Ramesh Swamy is the Lead Trustee of the organisation. He is an engineering graduate (B.E.Mechanical) and involved in business related to Logistics over 20 years. Currently, he is running C and F agency for multinational corporations. He believes Skill development cannot become a great movement till the time we are obsessed with 12th grade, graduation etc. People do not respect someone if he says he is a plumber or electrician. There is no respect for that supervisor who manages 100 staff to ensure that the facilities at the office are great for that staff to deliver the service call abroad. The person doing the service call is important but not the facilities manager. Skill development will get its impetus when we respect every work and not just the white-collar jobs.

The family of 5 members had less than Rs. 15000 as annual income Raja learnt of the Unnati training and joined our 1st batch. He joined Food World (retail chain stores) with a salary of Rs 2500 + per month. He consistently showed good performance and was promoted to Assistant Manager.  Story of Anjali
Anjali D.L is from Hesaragatta Bangalore (Rural) and has completed grade 10. Her father is a tailor and there are 4 members in the family. Anajali found it is essential from her part to support the family and didn't know what to do?. During this time frame she came to know about Unnati through her friend Latha who had passed out of Unnati. In Unnati she was selected for the training under Retail Sales and Marketing (30th Batch. During this time she was given training in various modules related to Retail customer needs and wants how to interact with customers etc. Apart from that she was also given training on Spoken English, Life Skills, Values and Basic computers. Anjali has completed the training successfully. At the end of the training she was selected by 'Godrej Ltd' (for their retail stores) and she got a starting salary offer of Rs 6000 per month. Now Anjali has a job in hand and she is able to support her family. Also the training gave her lots of positive confidence and energy to face the challenges in the life. All this happened in a matter of 70 days.

 Enabling Schooling
Komala is working as a maid earning about Rs.3000 per month. The sole bread winner of the family, she is managing expenses related to rent, food and clothing of her two children. It is almost impossible for her to give education to her children even in schools with minimal fee. Through Shiksha scholarship program, the education fee of her son Kiran R, studying in Grade 10 and her daughter Sandhya R studying in Grade 7 i.e. combined fees of Rs.3500 each year is paid to their school, St Patricks. This financial support has helped me a lot and I am really thankful for it. It helped me to avoid taking a loan at high interest rates. The money saved is going towards meeting cost of groceries. Shiksha scholarship is very useful for the poor in the society says Komala
