Making health a reality for the people of Tripura
 
Background
VHAT started as a state-level network of NGOs within the state of Tripura with the aim to build the capacity of the member organizations as well as the different sectors of the society, through training, to achieve the goal of making health a reality for the people of Tripura.
 
In 2015-2016 Mr.Benudhar Acharya was the President of VHAT. He is working as an Officer in State Bank of India. But since his student life he has great interest in the welfare activities. He formed an organization named Bodhan Social Welfare Organization in his hometown Kowhai. This organization has been working for the promotion of Education of the poor children.

 Dark to light – right of elderly people.
Kalipada Roy is 80 years old (male) .He is a resident of Amtali village, South Tripura. He has two sons; both are married & separated from him. His wife died 33 years back. Now he is alone. He cannot do other activities due to eye problem and weakness due to old age. He is also suffering from joints pain. He was suffering from right eye problems since last one year, but never visited a doctor. Through the announcement he came to know about the VHAT eye screening camp. Initially he was not ready to come in the camp, but after counseling by the volunteers of the local NGOs, who helped in organizing the camp, he agreed to attend the camp. When she attended the camp on 06/07/10 he was diagnosed with cataract in his eyes. He has undergone surgery on 07/07/10. After the surgery he was highly satisfied with the quality of the services he received from the eye hospital. He expressed satisfaction about the cleanliness and other services in the hospital. He thanked the Hospital staff. He emphasized on the more publicity to popularize the VHAT Eye Hospital activity
 
 Personal Mobility is Right of every Physically Challanged Person.
Monti Ghosh, a 16 year old girl child of Manindra and Dipu Ghosh, is a phycally impaired since birth. She never could stand but can crawl. Father Manindra is a daily labor. Monti studied upto class IV.As she was growing her body became heavier ,her parent could not carry her to school.Her study ended there. She was just staying in the home helping her mother in some works. VHAT with the help of District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) provided her a Wheel Chair on 24-07-2010 and trained her how to use it. Monti and her family was very happy . Monti told that she would again go to school with this wheel chair and be admitted in class V. She would be able to go arround by herself.
 
 Every child has Right to Food
Sampili Debbarma, a female child from a tribal family, her date of birth is 01-04-1999.Her father Dhaniram Debbarma was a driver. Dhaniram is in life time imprisonment in charge rape and killing of his step mother late Mangal Laxmi Debbarba .When he went to jail Sampili’s mother Smt Lalita Debbarma started working as a daily labor.She is living in Village Baskar Kobrapara, PO Madhabbari ,Jirania West Tripura with her three children . Sampili is the eldest one and reached to adolescent age. Mother does not feel safe to go to work for the whole day leaving Sampili at home. She called on CHILDLINE Agartala for a shelter for Sampili. After the home visit and investigation by VHAT the child was admitted in Anwesha Child Protection Centre on 11-02-2009. Sampili is now studying in class II. She is regularly attending the school. She is getting nutrition, education, medical support and recreational facilities in the centre.
