Mission/Vision
A diverse and inclusive Society where every individual is ensured equal rights and opportunities in a dignified manner.

Background
In 2005, we began in the little village of Sanp Ki Nagli in Sohna, near Gurgaon, in a government primary school. The idea of working with children with disabilities came with several challenges, in terms of accessibility as well as attitudes. Vishwas was keen to reach the unreached in rural areas, so we began our work in villages but the lack of professional support forced us to step back and reconsider. We looked for a small place in Gurgaon instead: a place to begin, to implement our ideas and concepts of inclusive practices and refine them, so that we could then go back to the villages, equipped with new insight and understanding

Neelam Jolly holds an M.Sc (Hons School) degree in biophysics and subsequently completed a diploma in basic developmental therapy . She set up Vishwas in 2005 and has been its full-time Chairperson since then. She spearheads the programmes from front and mobilizes resources for the organization. Under her leadership, in ashort span Vishwas Vidyalaya is a recognized Elementary school with inclusive practices, have covered the entire block of Sohna under Community Based programme, come out with ‘Inclusion Kit’ in collaboration with State Education Department.

Every child has a right to meaningful and quality education
Manish(name changed), a seven year old boy got his first opportunity to attend a formal school Vishwas Vidyalaya one year ago. He enjoys attending school and enjoys studying and sports. His mother is a part time cook in 3 houses and the father works as a gardener. He has a 2 year old sister who is looked after by the neighbors when the mother goes to work. The parents are unable to pay the month fees but manage to pay a token monthly charge. There are some months where they are unable to pay the token charge also. Manish (name changed) comes to school regularly and is doing extremely well academically. With the flexible model offered by Vishwas Vidyalaya, he has managed to complete one year syllabus in 8 months! Vishwas bore the expenses from its own pool of resources and subsequently would raise funds to mete out the expenses for his tuition as the organization did not want limited financial resources to become a barrier to attend school and learn.
