To see a world where the birth of a child is a joy regardless of gender, where every girl is cared for and is educated, where a woman is empowered to make choices for herself.
Aarti Home started in 1992 when Sandhya, the founder of Aarti Home found Radhika, a three year old who was abandoned on the streets of Kadapa after her mother was killed in what would typically be called a case of domestic abuse and dowry harassment. A few friends came together and formed Aarti home to take care of children like Radhika. Radhika and Aarti Home were the humble start to Vijay Foundation Trust, which can be best described as a silent crusade against injustice to women and children, a crusade that has got stronger over the last twenty one years and has impacted over 100,000 women and children across the district. Over the years Aarti has started Aarti Home, Aarti School, Aarti Education, Lalitha Womens Centre and Lalitha Advocacy under the aegis of Vijay Foundation Trust. In addition Aarti has built tremendous external linkages with governmental and non- governmental agencies across the world to bring funds, focus and awareness for the issue of girl child.
Sandhya, well known member of the teaching community, is much respected and loved by both her students and colleagues. She has been an inspiration to many. A member of the legal cell, she is known for her ardent support for the rights of women and child.

 Our first child Radhika
Radhika was the first child at Aarti Home. She was left with us by a woman of her village when she was hardly two years old. She had already been through much trauma - her mother had been killed by her father after which he absconded. Her grandfather had been looking after her, but he also passed away. Following this, none of her uncles were willing to take care of her. Radhika was severely malnourished and had nutritional cirrhoses when she was brought from her village. She required medical attention immediately. She never smiled or showed any expressions on her face. It took a long time for her to speak and had a vague look on her face. Slowly, she opened up and began interacting with other girls in the Home. Eventually she started attending the school as well. She never did well in school. But we were pleasantly surprised when she secured good percentage in the 10th standard exams. She did well in her Higher Secondary as well. We then enrolled her for a course as a Radiology Technician. She now works in Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad and is doing very well in her job, thus making Aarti Home proud .
