 Digging wealth through a well
Sagaram is a tribal farmer of Pusalda village in Gharghoda block of Raigarh district. He is a marginal farmer whose 7 ancestral lands were barren. Sagaram used to work as agricultural laborer in other lands. Janmitram supported Sagaram with digging a well in his land. With arrangement of water, he started cultivation in barren land. He planted some fruit plant in two acre and vegetable in quarter acre. Vegetable and fruits have been planted and Sagarm has got plenty of work in his own land. His land resource, previously giving nothing, is now an income-generating asset. He has now grown Potato in 1 acre and expecting crop worth Rs. 40,000 in this season.
Bot Singh- Role model for other farmers
Bot Singh is a tribal farmer of Sardhap village of Gharghoda block in Raigarh District. He owns two acres of wasteland in his village. He had no alternative source of income except farming and lived in abject poverty. Janmitram provided Bot Singh with training, seeds, fertilizer and agricultural tools from NABARD funds. Bot Singh prepared his land, planted the seeds and used the fertilizers as instructed. In time he had got a good crop of vegetables, which he was able to sell at a good price Our support provided him work and income through the year. He was able to earn about Rs. 4000 through this kitchen garden. This help changed his life as well as that of his family. It also earned him the respect of his neighbours. He is now a role model for other farmers.
