Success achieved by visually challenged students
Rani Prajapati, 16 years of age is a student of Drishti Blind School. Her father is a laborer in the village. Before she joined our school, she was staying at home. She was unable to do her daily activities without any help and she was dependent on others. Her parents were worried about her future. She joined our school in 2004 and is now in Grade X. After she joined our school, we trained her in basic skills necessary for living. We taught her by using Braile techniques. She underwent mobility training and learnt to move and walk freely. She was also taught subjects like Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Social studies, Science and other subjects recognized by the government of Uttar Pradesh. Now Rani can read Hindi and English with the help of Braille. She is confident now and she will appear for high school board Examination this year. She is dreaming of a bright future for her.

 Smartly dressed DRISHTI student
Chunni Dinkar studies in Grade X. Her father passed away in 2012. Her mother is a laborer. She is unable to support the education and needs of Chunni. Girls like Chunni wear ordinary dress in their home town before coming to our School. These are not clean and not maintained well. We provide uniforms to the students who join our school before Independence day and again one more set in December. The shirt is lemon yellow and the skirt is maroon colored. We also provide tie, belt with black shoes and white socks. They are also given green colored sweater and marron blazer in the 2nd term. The students look bright, confident and smart in uniforms. We celebrate all festivals in our school as we want to bring good faith and belief in our students. We celebrated birthday of Louis Braille on 3rd and 4th January this year. Every year students participate in Independence and republic day fiesta without fail.
