Background
FFE IT was started by FFE Inc., a 501 (c) (3) organization based in CA, USA. The goal of both organizations is to ensure that no meritorious student in India is deprived of the opportunity to realize the dream of higher education for want of finances
 
Dr. Prabhu Goel and his wife Poonam founded FFE in 1994. Dr. Goel is a distinguished Technologist, Philanthropist and Entrepreneur. He is an active private venture investor and has served on the boards of many companies. He currently serves on the boards of InsideVault and FusionOps. Dr. Goel graduated from IIT Kanpur and was the recipient of the President's Gold Medal for academic excellence. He received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

 A Life Transformed
The widowed mother of Sriram brought him up in the slum areas of Mumbai. She earned a meagre income of Rs. 3,000 per month preparing and distributing tiffin box meals. But she made sure that her son studied well. With 90% marks in the HSS Board exam and a merit rank of 1400 in the entrance test, Sriram was admitted to an engineering college in Mumbai and looked for sources of financial assistance An FFE volunteer came to know of his academic success and the difficulty he faced in finding financial support to pursue his dream of becoming an engineer. The volunteer interviewed Sriram and his mother and provided them with our application form. Sriram received scholarships from FFE for the academic years 2002-03, 2004-05, and 2005-06. Total amount of scholarship given was Rs 48,720. With this assistance, Sriram successfully completed his engineering degree Following graduation, Sriram was offered a job with CAPGEMINI Consulting India Pvt. Ltd. He has been working there for 3 years. Recently, he got an onsite opportunity to work in the Netherlands as an SAP consultant. He has since moved his residence to a new, 2BR apartment in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. Sriram is deeply grateful to FFE for its timely support during the period of his graduation
 
 A Farm Girl becomes a Doctor
Gayathri comes from a lower income rural family of Jalgaon, Maharashtra. She was placed on the state rank merit list in the Board exams. With a merit rank of 100 in the entrance test, she secured admission to a top medical college. Not having sufficient family support for her tuition, hostel and other fees, she found it very difficult to continue her medical education. She came to FFE for assistance FFE identified Gayathri through one of its volunteers, who had been her teacher during her high school days. She was provided the Foundation scholarship for the entire duration of her MBBS studies. The FFE volunteer kept in touch with her throughout her period of study, monitoring her progress and guiding her towards successful completion of her studies. Gayathri received FFE scholarships for the academic years 2000-2001 to 2004-05. Total amount of scholarship given was Rs 1,05,520 Gayathri finished her MBBS in 2005. After completing her internship, she started preparations for her post-graduate studies. She recently finished her MD with specialization in Anatomy and stood first in the university examinations. She is presently working as a lecturer in the same college where she did her MBBS studies
 
 FFE Scholar tops the Country In Post Graduate Entrance Examination of AIIMS
Ajit Goenka, a student of St. Joseph’s Convent High School, Jalgaon was a consistent topper in his class.His parents were of modest means & encouraged their son to continue to work hard to excel through high school. He was admitted to Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai after securing II Rank in the State Medical Entrance Test. His family’s dire financial circumstances forced him to look for sources of financial assistance to fund his medical education (2001). No one in his family had received a professional degree. An FFE volunteer was informed of his academic success in standard X-XII & his dream of becoming a doctor while financial struggles continued at home. The volunteer continued to encourage him to seek admission into the MBBS program after his brilliant performance in Std XII. Ajit received scholarships from FFE for the academic years 2001-2005. The scholarship amount given was Rs. 90,000. With this assistance, Ajit successfully completed his medical degree, collecting several honors and accolades along the way. Following graduation, Dr. Ajit Goenka decided to pursue his MD degree. He scored the FIRST rank in the country in the All India Postgraduate Entrance examination for admission into the MD/MS courses in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi where he is currently MD resident-Physician. Ajiti s deeply grateful to FFE for its timely support during the period of his medical education.
 
 Loan free education through FFE produces a distinguished woman Engineer
Devaki G is hardworking and determined. Her father was a driver in a private company, struggling to provide a decent education to his daughter. Devaki topped her school in the Standard XII exams but her dreams of becoming an Engineer in Computer Sciencee came doubtful when an educational loan to fund her education in M.N.M.Jain Engg. College, Chennai loomed large & the strain of repaying the loan too big a burden for the family. Her teacher, also an FFE volunteer encouraged her to study & recommended her to FFE for a collger scholarship. The volunteer submitted her application form to the Foundation & after verifying her eligibility. Devaki received scholarships from FFE for her Engineering program from 2005-2009.. The total scholarship amount given was Rs. 90,000 for 4 years of study. With this assistance, Devaki continued to excel in college and completed her Engineering program in 2009 with distinction. Her strong software skills & additional classes she took both during and after her Engineering program helped to hone her skills and stay competitive in the global job market. Following graduation, Devaki was selected by POLARIS software Ltd in Chennai as a Software tester where she is currently employed. Devaki is thankful to FFE for its timely support, that reduced the family’s burden during the period of her engineering education.
