Bal Asha Trust has taken care of more than 1250 such children 24 x 7 for the past 28 years. Bal Asha Trust a pioneer, registered and professionally managed charitable organization. Bal Asha Trust runs a children’s home for 50 children in Mumbai for children between 1 day to 12 years. The children’s home is licensed under the Juvenile Justice Act 2000, but does not receive any government funding.
Once the child is admitted in the residential home, the Trust has a unique spectrum of services for taking care of the children. They include medical, nutritional, educational, development and recreational needs of the children.
Some of the children living in the home are Special Needs like Cerebral Palsy, mental retardation, physically challenged, Albinism, Visual or Hearing impairment and developmentally delayed.
A large number of these children need special health care, good nutrition, medical consultation and interventions. These children have immense psychological needs as well due to the trauma which they face at such young age.
Bal Asha Trust has a committed team of trained professionals including Doctors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapist, Psychologists, Educational Teachers, Care Takers and Social Workers who believe in children, their growth and their future.
Looking after children is a challenging task, Bal Asha Trust needs regular funds to support its activities and keep providing interventions for a brighter future for the abandoned children.
