    The worst flooding in 100 years has hit the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in India. Millions have been evacuated from low-lying villages due to the heavy rains and massive flooding.

         THE SITUATION IN KRISHNA DISTRICT ;-

           In Krishna district, the river water flowed into Budameru, a dangerous drain that, in turn, flooded several areas in Vijayawada and surroundings. The river also overflowed onto the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway in Kanchikacherla, Ibrahimpatnam and other places.

Total affected Mandals - 16.
Total affected Villages – 131.
Total affected people – 2.90 lakh.
Nearly 10 lakh children were lost their books&bags.
Total drowned agricultural area in Acres- Ac.60,000 cents ( Ac.40,000 land were paddy fields, Ac. 20,000 land were Commercial crops areas like Banana, Cane sugar, Turmeric cotton etc)..,
The total loss through this flood was approximately Rs.600 crores in krishna district.

The road and trains transport was badly hit by the floods. About 10 lakh children lost their text books and note books and it is a common site to see students drying their books on roofs, roads and other open places in Andhra Pradesh.
    The flood waters, entered 131 villages of Krishna district near the point where the rivers falls in to the bay of Bengal.
    We are planning to implement short term & long term activities like, distribute food items, basic needs for cooking, cloths and bed sheets, medicines, books and basic needs for students and also involve the alternative livelihood programs and programs related to disaster management etc;

         We are requesting you all donate & do something to the flood affected people.
