This year, Twestival Pune has chosen to support Pune based Equal Community Foundation, www.ecf.org.in.

Over 100 million women in India live with violence and discrimination that results in inequitable access to basic services and rights.

Equal Community Foundation works in low income urban communities to empower women by developing men as positive agents of change who take personal and collective action to empower women that they live with.

Our foremost programme, Action for Equality is designed to ensure that every adolescent man who graduates tales personal action in their community, and that women who lives with that man benefits from their actions. Graduates take action to support women in health, livelihoods, civil and human rights, and to reduce both physical and non-physical violence against women.

Over 80% of our graduates are impacting women in their community - the women tell us themselves. In 2011, we will impact 1,200 women at a cost of 330INR per woman, and by 2015 we want to reach out to 120,000 women in Pune and across India.

We believe that every women in India has a right to live a life free from violence and discrimination. If you do too, please pledge your support and donate now.

Please help us raise funds for slum dwelling women in Pune, enable them to continue their good work. We stand a chance to win matching grants from GiveIndia too if we are the top city to raise the most funds or have the most donors.
