Anand S hails from rural Maharashtra. His father works as a tailor in a village and earns less than Rs. 25,000 a year. Anand's goal in life is to become an engineer, get a well-paying job and improve the financial condition of his family. Based on his outstanding academic performance, he secured admission at a government college of engineering in Pune. With limited resources, Anand struggled to find a way to fulfill his dream. A well-wisher directed him to the Foundation for Excellence (FFE), a charitable organization providing scholarships to brilliant and needy students in India. With FFE's help, Anand is well on the way to realizing his dream. To date, FFE (www.ffe.org) has assisted more than 10,000 students, of whom 40% are girls. FFE students come from all over India and have been selected for assistance solely on their merit and need. There is no consideration of gender, caste, community, religion, or region in the selection process. More than 3,000 students have completed their higher education. They are gainfully employed in well-known organizations in India and abroad or are pursuing other professional careers. FFE India's goal is to help at least 1,000 new students each year start their engineering or medical studies and to continue assistance until the studies are completed. Each engineering student is provided a scholarship of Rs.25,000 a year for 4 years while a medical student is provided a scholarship of Rs. 22,500 a year for 5 years. We seek your support to accomplish these goals. Make a donation to FFE India through the India Giving Challenge and help transform the life of brilliant and needy students. You can sponsor the education of one or more students either through your individual contribution or jointly with your colleagues, friends, family members, and others.
