All Mumbai positions are preferably full time and based out of our office at Khetwadi. We expect people in senior positions like division heads and the CTO to work 55-60 hours a week. However, we are very open to exceptionally talented second career women who can work hard but need flexibility of timings and work-from-home options. Positions in other cities are field based.

Head - Accounts:

GiveIndia is looking for C.A/ Inter C.A/ ICWA with 5-10 years of experience to handle responsibilities of accounts and finance. The desired candidate should have complete familiarity with Company law, Taxation and Statutory compliances with thorough knowledge of Accounts and Finance and expertise in Tally and excel. S/He should possess excellent oral as well as written communication skills and should be a self starter who can work with very little supervision.

The responsibilities include:

- Accounting, statutory audit, statutory compliance
- Error free Disbursements to NGO’s
- Bank reconciliations
- Monthly budgeting for variance tracking & analysis
- Developing and documenting internal control systems & procedures
- Ensuring standard reporting as per calendar of returns
- Effective, timely information through MIS to CEO and to other operating departments
- Quality in dealings with sister departments, NGO’s & donors.

Chief Technology Officer:

This would be a young, technologically brilliant person who is totally on top of the latest web and database technologies and believes that the Internet can change society in many more ways than we have seen so far.

The CTO, will design and implement our next generation website including an easy-to-use yet reliable website interface, driven by a powerful transaction engine and content mgt system and strong backoffice processing capabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to use the latest web 2.0 tools and technologies to create change. The candidate will have the space and freedom to create several new online applications for use by NGOs and the giving public across India. The technology division can be eventually spun off into a separate IT for NGOs company.

The right candidate would be an ace techie conversant with Java and open source internet technologies like Drupal, Joomla, Ruby on rails, etc. An aptitude to "search the net" for plug and play tools and finding "appropriate tech solutions" to "fix problems" is essential. The candidate would be between 18-30 years of age (definitely under 35), and would have already built at least a few websites.

This is a critical position for us. Pay will be reasonable and can carry attractive performance linked incentives.

Sales Manager – Mumbai / Bangalore: 

The Sales Manager will be responsible for selling our Payroll Giving Programme to organisations through pitches to CEO’s and HR Heads. The Manager will also head a sales team and will be expected to meet aggressive targets. The incumbent will be involved in the launch and entire run through of the pay roll giving programme in corporate organisations. An Ideal person for the position will have exceptional communication skills, at least 4 years of exposure to corporate sales and prior experience in leading a sales team. An MBA with excellent net working skills will be a good fit. Knowledge of the social services sector will be an added plus. To apply for this position email your resume to careers@giveindia.



 

Sales Executives - Payroll Giving Sales - Mumbai/Bangalore:

You will reach out to employees in some of India's biggest and best corporates in comfortable workplaces. Instead of making well-to-do people buy more clothes and perfumes or take yet another credit card they do not need or coaxing busy doctors to prescribe expensive drugs, you will use your sales skills to give them compelling reasons to contribute small amounts and use their power to make a big difference to the lives of the less fortunate.

Candidates must have at least 2 years’ retail sales experience. Those who don't have direct sales experience but are willing to explore a career in frontline sales may also apply. Please send your resume to

Web Designer:

GiveIndia is looking for a young and creative web designer to join its Internet Giving team. The individual will be primarily responsible for handling creatives required on the website and different business units for their pitches and activities. The individual should have 2-3 years experience in web designing and be able to conceptualize creatives independently from business ideas. Person should be a go-getter and require minimal hand-holding and should be to able to work without a high level of supervision

Knowledge of important creative softwares such as Photoshop, Corel Draw, Dreamweaver, etc. The individual should have professional certification/education in the same. A diploma in web designing or degree in creative arts will help the candidates performance. A good command over HTML and CSS is required. Javascript knowledge will be helpful..

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for developing creatives to be used on the GiveIndia website.
  • Develop creatives for pitches and activities of the Internet Team.
  • Assist Internet team in making creatives required for alliances and partnerships.

    Mandatory Requirements

    1. Excellent communication skills in English - both oral and written
    2. Have an extremely good sense of colors, visualizations, designs and layouts
    3. Should be able to visualize creative designs for websites and presentations and be able to bring the creative thoughts into real designs.
    4. Knowledge of creative softwares such as Photoshop, Corel Draw, Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML, CSS etc and basic PowerPoint skill

    Nice to have
    1. 2-3 years of web designing experience in a corporate setup.
    2. Should be able to work under tight deadlines, meet targets and execute tasks end-to-end.
    3. Willingness to learn on the job without high degree of hand-holding

    Software Programmer:


    GiveIndia is looking to recruit bright young individuals for its Technology team. Technology is the key for an efficient, viable and scalable online donation platform. An experience in the evolution of the Internet space as it happens; behavioral trends of online customers and impact of UI design on customer buying process in an e-Commerce site are key learning's in this role. A peek into understanding of behind-the-scene operations at an organization will be valuable in any sector you choose to eventually take up. Over time you will have the space and freedom to create several new applications for use by GiveIndia itself, as well as by NGOs and the giving community across India.

    Key responsibilities will be:
    1. Complete management and control of our website, www.GiveIndia.org, a leading website in the non-profit sector in India.
    2. Understanding business requirements and translating into functional specifications for development by the technology team
    3. Imparting training on core modules to business people.
    4. Development of new features, applications, widgets, integration of social media etc.
    5. Assisting internal teams and donors in having a "super" experience with the website.
    6. Managing multiple vendor teams efficiently to ensure seamless co-ordination towards creating a high-technology environment both within and outside the organization.
    7. Perform key operational roles for various business units helping them in their activities.

    Skills required:

    1. Strong SQL knowledge.
    2. Strong understanding and appreciation of the software development process. Someone said "God is in the detail". In the software space, "God is in testing"! :-)
    3. Has knowledge of programming.
    4. Excellent analytical capabilities and an ability to grasp things fast.
    5. Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
    6. Most importantly - an almost crazy willingness to learn!!!.

    Management Trainees :

    GiveIndia is looking to hire 3 management trainees this June.
    GiveIndia is India's first "philanthropy exchange", that hopes to catalyse a "giving culture" in India. Founded in 2000, it has connected >100,000 Indian donors with over 250 NGOs in India, working on a wide range of causes from health, education, disability to livelihoods, environment and gender issues. Channelling over Rs100cr since inception., GiveIndia impacts over 100,000 people's lives every year, and is probably the 3rd largest fund-channelling intermediary in India behind CRY and Helpage.

    GiveIndia is poised to scale up significantly and reach 1 million donors by 2010. Its management team includes professionals from India's leading institutes (IITs, IIMs, ISB, TISS, etc.). To support this growth, and to create its next line of future leaders, GiveIndia seeks young management trainees. This is a great opportunity to take on lots of responsibility, and to grow and learn fast. It involves intellectually challenging and emotionally rewarding hard work.

    Trainees will spend upto March 2011 getting exposed to the department they best fit in at GiveIndia and taking on active operational role in that division. Trainees can be a part of departments like Internet Marketing, Payroll Giving, Feedback etc.

    A gross stipend of Rs16,000pm will be paid during this period, after which suitable candidates will be absorbed into appropriate roles in the organisation.
    All positions are based in Mumbai.

    A graduate / post graduate (full time MBA degree/diploma preferred) with very high fluency in spoken & written English are a must for this position.
