Success Story

Alonka is poorest of the poor living in village Mukhibidai, Koraput, Orissa. Alonka is poorest of the poor living in village Mukhibidai, Koraput, Orissa. Her husband expired within 10 years of their marriage, leaving behind four children. Due to poverty she could not provide even 2 meals a day to her children. She was working as daily wage labour in a near by town, which was also not regular work. She led a miserable life.

SAHARA visited Mukhibidai village and saw Alonka?s condition, spoke with her and assured her some support. After a month SAHARA could provide Rs. 3500/- to Alonka to start a village rations shop at her home.

A small support of Rs.3500/- to Alonka enabled her to earn average of Rs. 100/ per day through the village ration shop to manage her family. She enrolled her children in the village school. Alonka is no more a daily wage labour. She becomes the owner of a village ration shop
