Success Story

Monika has a Motor Perceptual Disorder, meaning her perception of depth is seriously skewed. Monika has a Motor Perceptual Disorder, meaning her perception of depth is seriously skewed. For her, small obstacles such as steps and pavements seemed frighteningly deep, and she was too scared even to climb the stairs of her school. Without counseling and physiotherapy, she faced a lifetime of dependency and confinement, unable to move around by herself.

Thankfully, our school (Karuna Vihar School) was able to give her the support she needed, providing counseling sessions and physiotherapy to help her overcome her challenges. They never gave up on the idea that one day she would be able to climb the stairs of the school with the rest of her classmates. Her therapy commence when she was in Karuna Vihar School.

And, finally, as a result of their support, she did it, and it was a very proud moment for us all. Now a trainee at the Centre for Vocational Training, Monika walks independently around the entire building, her home, and surrounding areas. She is a happy, confident girl, whose achievements have inspired all us all. Monika is now 22years old.She has just now graduated from our school.
