Success Story

Many women & girls are not involved in economic activity Many women & girls are not involved in economic activity due to lack of skills. This results the dependency on men. Women and young girls have to be involved in the development process by providing them skill development trainings. In this area, many women and girls are working in hazardous conditions. They have to be provided dignified working opportunities.

SERUDS has been providing skill development trainings to women and girls for creation of self employment opportunities for the last 6 months. We have conducted skill trainings in tailoring to 20 women & girls for a period of three months.

Due to skill trainings, the women were able to stitch clothes and earn their livelihood. After completion of the skill training, they have been doing piece work at our training centre. They are earning around Rs.75 per day by working in our centre. The material is being provided to them and they were paid on the basis of piece work. We are planning to expand our training centre as a common production centre, where in raw material and marketing assistance will be taking care of by the organization. We will procure orders from various agencies including Govt. Hostels for stitching of school uniforms, school bags, shopping bags, etc.
