Success Story

Kameshwari, a destitute and flood victim in recent floods of Kurnool. She lost every thing in the massive floods. Kameshwari, a destitute and flood victim in recent floods of Kurnool. She lost every thing in the massive floods. Her husband harassed and deserted her in the year 2005. She is having two children and they are going to the SERUDS day care center. Some time she works in the market yard as daily wage labour and some times she work as servant maid. Her only living shelter has completely smashed away in recent floods. In winter season, she and her children used to sleep in front of her damaged hut.

SERUDS while implementing flood relief activities in Malageri of Kurnool urban slums observed that this unfortunate woman along with her two children sleeping in front of her damaged hut. Moving with her piteous condition SERUDS provided food grains, utensils, clothes, sanitary napkins, etc., and supported her with construction of a hut with iron sheets. The hut was built in the month of November 2009 with the kind support and donations received from individual philanthropists.

Now Kameshwari and her two small kids are safely living in the shelter provided by SERUDS. She is confidently working in market yard and earning for her family expenses. She is sending her two kids to the SERUDS day care centre. We have supported five such flood victims through the construction of huts. Many more such flood victims of homeless and suffering a lot. We earnestly appeal to kind hearted philanthropists to liberally to donate and help for construction of shelters of minimum need of the flood victims.
