Success Story

In every coastal village 5 to 10 persons are found to have disabilities. In every coastal village 5 to 10 persons are found to have disabilities. Because of poverty, the disabled are neglected and marginalized but they too wish to live with dignity like others. Eg; BOLLA SANKAR -who has studied up to Grade 10 belongs to the Dalit community. His parents are very poor but he wants undergo skills training to become self-reliant.

CRASA imparted a weeks training on livelihoods options like making cleaners, soaps, detergents, stationery shops, telephone booth and pickle making. Mr. Sankar opted to establish a one rupee coin box telephone booth unit.

CRASA provided a one rupee coin telephone booth to Sankar and he established the center at his residence. He is earning Rs. 20 to 30 per day and does not have to rely on others
