Success Story

Vijaya came from an interior village of Guntur District and was trafficked 25 years ago. Vijaya came from an interior village of Guntur District and was trafficked 25 years ago. She was sold to many brothel homes in and around Andhra Pradesh. Finally she ended up in Ch. Peta where she was living for over 5 years. As she had reached 50 years of age, the brokers no longer required her. Hence they mercilessly threw her out of the brothel. Her family members did not provide her with a meal. As a result, she ended up begging on the streets of Ch. Peta and Guntur.

After getting the information about a woman begging in the streets, HELP volunteers enquired about her story and brought her to HELP Old age home. Our counselor provided her with emotional support.

She is recovering from her health problems. She is assisting in running of the home and explains the fate of a sex worker at later years to the Victims of CSE&T.
