Boys Night Shelter - Mumbai, Maharashtra

This project will provide a safe haven for 40 street children in Mumbai so that they can pursue their education and are given optimum opportunities for development on physical, cognitive and intellectual, creative and social development. Also to provide temporary housing when necessary to the extensive network of 47 organisations that work with street children.

Currently located in Kalyan since it is a large urban station where many children congregate. Being a satellite to Mumbai, Kalyan lacks adequate services as most NGO activity is centred within Mumbai. Night shelter in Kalyan allows them to give unprotected children from the inner city, a better open space to thrive. Private schools here are quite good and they are able to obtain preferential treatment to handle disadvantaged children sensitively
