Success Story

Rohan hailed from one of the innumerable slums of Mumbai. Rohan hailed from one of the innumerable slums of Mumbai. As is true of most children therein, he was underprivileged and lived trapped in webs of disadvantage. He was illiterate with no scope and hope for access to education. Denied his basic right to education, his dreams and potential lay crippled.

Rohan became a part of the Mahima family in the year 2001 when he was just 7 years old. Mahima house parents enrolled Rohan into the third standard into a quality English medium school in the vicinity named Don Bosco School. Initially, he was very withdrawn at home and in school. With the persistent care and support of the house parents, His fears were allayed and over the years, he has developed into a self assured and confident boy!

It is amazing to see the change in his heart and his whole life over the past years - and it is not over! Recently, our joy overflowed when he successfully cleared his 10th standard examinations securing 62.76% and has been promoted into Grade 11 entering Don Bosco Junior College, Naigaon!
