Rohita Tamble was a very quiet 14 year old girl studying in Grade 9 in Dadar Woollen School, (Marathi Medium). Rohita Tamble was a very quiet 14 year old girl studying in Grade 9 in Dadar Woollen School, (Marathi Medium). When LIFE Trust first met Rohita, she was a hardworking and dedicated student but had no grasp of English. Her initial tests showed that she had a long way to go to speaking conversational English.

When Rohita started the Learn for LIFE Conversational English programme, our LIFE Coach saw her willingness to learn and encouraged her to give more time to her English studies. Rohita took a keen interest in her English classes and began spending time after school practicing the role play activities that she had been taught in the programme. When it was time for the end of year testing, the LIFE Coach was surprised when Rohita made her presentation in fluent English!

Rohita is now a top scorer in her class in all her subjects including English. Here is a visible increase in her confidence, from the quiet and introverted, to a more outgoing and interactive. She is so happy with her achievement in speaking fluent English, that she expresses the desire to become a teacher so that she can share her knowledge with others like herself.
