Ajay was a living on streets near Sealdah area of Kolkata with his mentally imbalanced mother. Ajay was a living on streets near Sealdah area of Kolkata with his mentally imbalanced mother. His mother used to roam and beg for maintaining her son and herself. Living without shelter, even food and clothing was uncertain for Ajay, not to talk of education.

Ajay case was brought into Parivaar notice in March 2004. After procedural enquiries Ajay was admitted into Parivaar Ashram (Residential Institution for Overall Development) in the first week of April 2004 for overall care. Since he had no exposure to education whatsoever, he went through rapid learning course initially at Parivaar. We then admitted him into formal School straight into Grade 4 and then through merit-based admission test he found a place in Vidyanagar Higher Secondary School, the best and most reputed school near Parivaar Ashram.

Ajay Das stood 2nd amongst 300 students in Grade 7. His performance is continuously improving and he is now proving his merit as a brilliant student. He is a highly disciplined boy and at Parivaar is undergoing overall development through education, sports, value-education, recreation and above all immense love and care. The 350 residents (children and adult Seva-vratis) at Parivaar are his home and family.
