Success Story

Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal is serving to poor, needy, distressed people Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal is serving to poor, needy, distressed/disabled regardless of their caste, creed religion, or socio-economic status, especially in the rural areas. The hospital is conducting FREE eye screening camp at Sai Baba Temple, Pattabiram, Tiruvallur District on second Monday of every month. Accordingly, these patients attended the camp on 10.05.2010 and had examined. They were selected for cataract surgery.

Once they arrived, we provided tea in the morning & evening, unlimited breakfast -idlis with sambar, lunch with rice, sambar, vegetables and buttermilk and dinner with rice, rasam, dhal and buttermilk. For diabetic patients, we provide chapattis or samba rava upma. We give hygienic, nutritious and qualitative food.

The 20 patients were taken care with high quality medicines, accommodation, food & nursing care during their stay, all absolutely free of cost. They were discharged on the next day with good post-op vision and dropped back home. The restoration of sight brought a huge change in their life. They were now able to carry out their daily activities with comfort. The post-op evaluation was carried out at their door step on 25.06.2010.
