Success Story

Indira, a 2 year old from Kesarpura village was not able to walk. Indira, a 2 year old from Kesarpura village was not able to walk. Part of the reason was her poor health. She would sit in one place all day long. Her mother was quite worried about her situation.

Manisha, (Sanchalika/teacher) spoke with her mother and encouraged her to send Indira to the Balwadi regularly. Seva Mandir helps villages run balwadis for children to stay while their parents are working. It is a safe, secure and nurturing environment for children (1-5 years). They are provided with nutritional, health, and learning inputs. Sanchalika is the woman from the village itself.

Today Indira walks and sings poems with other children. Her mother is really happy with the progress her child has made. With 200 Balwadis 2208 boys and 2302 girls are benefiting from Seva Mandir centres. Parents attend the bi-monthly meetings to learn about the progress their children make. They discuss their responsibilities in looking after their children and supporting the centres.
