Success Story

In the villages of Podu, Vorlgondithippa, Pallepalem, Mynavailanka and Interu 25 adolescent girls are identified as school dropouts after 10th class or intermediate. In the villages of Podu, Vorlgondithippa, Pallepalem, Mynavailanka and Interu 25 adolescent girls are identified as school dropouts after 10th class or intermediate. Due to the parents poverty they are unable to continue their education. They belong to the backward class. They are interested in learning computers in order to get a job opportunity and be self dependent and also to support their families. Amudalapalli Durgambica is an18 year old girl and dropout of intermediate, whose father is a carpenter. He is a daily wage worker. Because of their familys economic condition she discontinued her education.

CRASA started a computer training center for 25 school dropout girls. The center is running with one computer instructor & one rented computer system in Podu village. The community provided the center building. The training is conducted every day from 10 am to 5 pm. The instructor teaches them about computer fundamentals, MS word, MS office, DTP and photo shop for a period of 3 months. Amudalapalli Durgambica completed a 3 months DTP course at our center.

Durgambica got a DTP operators job and she is earning 1500 pm. She is very happy and confident of her future life. The training enabled the girls to do computer related jobs. They can earn and live with self respect. The parents feel that girl children are not any more a burden on them. They can also go to their in-laws house with dignity. We hope that the dowry system in society will be reduced due to such measures.
