Success Story

Mary(name Changed) lost her parents at a tender age and was raised by her neighbours. Mary(name Changed) lost her parents at a tender age and was raised by her neighbours. At the age of 15, Mary was forced into prostitution by her care taker, for want of money. A customer promised to marry her , and took her to Eluru, where he kept her in a lodge. There she was sold to another person, who happened to be brothel owner at Guntur. Mary spent some months at the brothel house at Guntur. Mary lost confidence in the society. She was rescued in a rescue operation by Guntur police and was handed over to HELP.

When she arrived at HELP transit home, she had no hope and was thinking that her life would end up in prostitution only. Through regular counseling sessions by HELP counselor, she regained her confidence. As Mary was interested in alternative livelihoods as an alternative to prostitution, HELP trained her in tailoring and embroidery.

Today Mary is confident about her future; she is trained in Tailoring and embroidery and is earning 100 per day. She is now hopeful about her future. She now wants to shift her profession from her house to a shop for more profits.
