Success Story

Mrs. Kaliammal along with 12 members were trafficked from their street by Mr. Arumugam, Contractor to Chennai. Mrs. Kaliammal along with 12 members were trafficked from their street by Mr. Arumugam, Contractor to Chennai. She was paid Rs. 1000/- as advance per family. Her children also went with her. They were forced to work in Brick Kiln industries from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The employer provided huts as shelters at Bala Village in Chennai. She could not send her children to school due to poverty. They were not allowed to contact anybody over phone. Neither could they go to their native once in a while.

We have provided training in Animal Husbandry to these widows. With the help of MVKS, Mrs. Kaliammal was rescued from the chamber and was given a milch animal for income generation.

She now earns around Rs. 3000 per month and looks after her family.
