Success Story

Parvatisam is a skilled and asset-less weaver. Parvatisam is a skilled and asset-less weaver. He has been working under a local Master Weaver who controls the entire local economy. Before becoming the member of the cooperative, he has been a wage-labourer and did not have to sell his products directly to the consumers or shop-keepers.

The contribution first helped him to explore markets, which he never did in all these years. As market explorations are risky and might not fructify into orders, usually weavers do not undertake to sell on their own. With this contribution, the cooperative was able to explore markets within Andhra Pradesh, develop some promotional material in local and English languages. Also investment in a design requires time and loss of wages. Your contribution helped to avoid wage-loss too and this discourages them to invest in new designs, which may fail or succeed. Your contribution helped him to undertake production as well as marketing risks.

Now, after being the member of the cooperative society, which supports his production and marketing activities, he has become a proud owner of an entity. With the establishment of the cooperative and your contribution for donation, he is able to sell his product through the cooperative and increase his earnings by better wages and share in the profit
