Success Story

The patient when diagnosed with HIV was totally depressed and had lost his will to lead a normal life. The patient when diagnosed with HIV was totally depressed and had lost his will to lead a normal life. He had a tremendous weight loss and was also suffering from T.B. at one point of time. Due to the social stigma attached with HIV, it became very difficult for him to cope up with this truth of life. He did not have any information about HIV and its medicines.

When the patient came to SOFOSH for help, he was counseled about HIV and how he could deal with disease yet lead a normal life in spite of this infection. He was educated about the necessity of taking nutritious food and timely medicine. He was also inducted in to the Support Group initiated by SOFOSH especially for PLHA. He is now a regular member of the group and also comes for nutrition.

Due to the counseling by the Social worker of SOFOSH, he is now able to successfully face challenges of life with a smile. He is very happy to come to the Support Group meetings due to the spirit of camaraderie at such meetings which not only enlightens him but gives hope for the future. The supportive nutrition helps him prevent further deterioration. He takes his medicines regularly now.
