Arpita is a victim of family violence. Arpita is a victim of family violence. One night Arpita’s father stabbed her mother to death and absconded. Arpita witnessed the scene. The neighbours informed her grand parents who were taking care of her younger sister. The child was mentally disturbed .She continuously repeated “My father killed my mother. I saw this .Please kill my father and get back me my mother.”

We received a call on our CHILDLINE phone from Jirania police station on 02/01/2008. We met the police and visited Arpita’s home to collect the details of the case. The child was taken to CHILDLINEs office & then admitted to Anwesha Child Protection Centre run by VHAT. She is provided with food ,education and care.

The child is going to school under the guidance of VHA of Tripura.
