Krishnamoorthy (25) is a disabled youth and old student of our child labour school, residing in Tirupanjeeli village. Krishnamoorthy (25) is a disabled youth and old student of our child labour school residing in Tirupanjeeli village. He is working in a private gem polishing unit for Rs.30 to 40 per day. He commutes to work with the help of his tricycle. He gives his earnings to his parents.

VDC helped him to purchase a gem polishing machine and he set up his work at home. We linked him with a local gem producer for regular employment. He gets rough stones every day and returns the polished stones in the evening

Working out of his home and getting employment regularly through the local gem producer, he is earning an average wage of Rs. 40 to Rs. 50 per day. He works for six days and take rest on Sundays and spends time with his friends. He is enjoying the ownership of the machine and gets more respect and care both from family and community
