Success Story

Senthamarai Womens SHG group members did not have knowledge of HIV/AIDS. Senthamarai Womens SHG in Kanchipuram, did not have knowledge about HIV/AIDS. They discriminated people with HIV.

IEC exhibition was organized in the area to create awareness to improve the knowledge on basic facts about STI/HIV/AIDS since the community women had less information about HIV/AIDS. The women from Senthamarai Womens Group also visited the exhibition and they were given facts and figures about STI/HIV/AIDS.

The women appreciated the effort put in by the NGO to spread awareness about STI/HIV/AIDS and said they would refer their spouse and their community people to make use of the mobile clinic service provided by DESH.
