Success Story

When 40 year old Yankanna from Gouripur village was cutting wood on the tree unfortunatly he fell down. When 40 year old Yankanna from Gouripur village was cutting wood on the tree unfortunatly he fell down. Due to the fall his his spinal chord was damaged. He found himself sitting in a corner of his house and living in threat of increasing diseases, pressure sources, contractures and depression. Losing opportunities all day to day activities of the life because of his severe disability

Project disability worker and volunteers identified him, provided counseling service and referred him to Samarthya assessment clinic & short stay camps for further treatment and services. Later disability workers and technicians conducted detail assessment and created a treatment plan. We also provided therapeutic skills & helped him practice in his home. We listed mobility aids and appliance needs and later provided the Chaithanya worldmade wheelchair. Later disability worker continued followup physiotherapy, counseling and other therapeutic services through homebased care.

Yankanna has an improved quality of life by having his own independent, safe and comfortable means of mobility. The wheelchair provides a cushion to prevent pressure sources, contracture and further disability. By using this he is doing daily living activities, running a petty shop independently and goes around in his community.
