Success Story

The handloom weavers in Aruppukottai Block suffer a lot for their survival The handloom weavers in Aruppukottai Block suffer a lot for their survival due to degraded nature of their trade. The wages they get are not even sufficient to meet out their daily requirements. Hence naturally, they find it very difficult to meet the educational needs of their children. If these children are not given a timely help, they tend to get dropped from the school and start helping their parents in their occupation and become co-breadwinners.

The representatives of the handloom weaver community approached SEEDS to help their children with educational supplies. In this regard, SEEDS identified about 30 children of weavers and helped them with educational supply such as notebooks and stationery depending upon the need of their children.

The children are very proud and happy to possess their notebooks and stationeries. This has motivated them to go to school without fail. They show good interest and show progress in their studies. The parents are very happy over this timely help and thanked SEEDS for this intervention.
