Success Story

Nimai Chand Roy, a poor farmer in Fatikchhara Panchayat under Mohanpur block of west Tripura District attended the training on environment and sustainable organized by VHAT in 2008. Nimai Chand Roy, a poor farmer in Fatikchhara Panchayat under Mohanpur block of west Tripura District attended the training on environment and sustainable organized by VHAT in 2008. Before that he used chemical fertilizers in his field.

Nimai Chand became motivated after attending the training and constructed a Vermicompost tank within the boundary of his house. Now he has started the production. He is using the fertilizer in red pepper and brinjal cultivation. He is satisfied with the production. Again, the Vermicompost is cheaper than chemical fertilizer. So the production cost of chilies and brinjal s are also less for him.

Nimai Chand is using the vermicompost and asking other fellow farmers to construct the tank and to use the bio-fertiliser.
