Senthil Kumar a 27 year old gentleman was referred to The Banyan from the Hanumanthapuram temple for psychiatric treatment. Senthil Kumar a 27 year old gentleman was referred to The Banyan from the Hanumanthapuram temple for psychiatric treatment. He had previously been to many hospitals and also had consulted doctors for the same but all in vain. His mother Meera lost all hopes on him and took him to her brother. He asked her to take him to Veerabadhran temple where people were referred for psychiatric treatment she was given some money and was sent to the temple by her brother.

Senthil was admitted for treatment at the health center. He was sent for a blood test and MRI scan and was put under observation. He was sent to the day care activity center. He never used to go without his mother and did not show any interest in doing the activities there. Meera motivated him; she used to do the activities daily hoping that he would show some interest since she was doing it. Senthil started folding paper and made paper covers. Her support was withdrawn. Meera cooperated well for the rehab program and followed all the instruction given. Senthil was forcefully sent to the Day care center by his mother; she also gave him sufficient amount of motivation. Senthil got used to doing the activities without her support. Meera, meanwhile did the house keeping at the center all through the day.

Senthil has been going to Om Shakti printers for the past 15 days. He is under going training there at present. We approached the owner to find out the progress; the owner seems to be happy with the work. He says Senthil will soon pick up the work as of now he was a bit slow. He is supportive and also motivates Senthil and gives him regular praise for the work he does at the press. He also sees to it that Senthil takes his regular medicines in the afternoon without fail. Senthil has started gaining the confidence that he can be independent. His mother is proud to see Senthil go to work. Senthil can be set has an example for those who feel have lost hope…
