Success Story

Before our intervention, the destitute, disabled, old and the widows were not able to obtain the government welfare schemes which were announced by the state and central governments. Before our intervention, the destitute, disabled, old and the widows were not able to obtain the government welfare schemes which were announced by the state and central governments. But after our intervention, the people have got many welfare schemes like old age pension, monetary support for disabled, widow pension. But they are not able to do this alone, they need someone’s help and assistance. That is what SENSE is now doing.

Mugundan is an old man with no children and he is illiterate. SENSE taught him to sign when he was unable to get his old age pension from the local government office. Now he has got the old age pension after our staff’s assistance.

Like Mr. Mugundan, SENSE has succeeded to get 25 old age people - pension, 23 - disable monetary support, 35 - widow pension, 13 - poor girls marriage support, 5 - farmers free bore well digging support and lots more. This has been done up to May 2010 and there are months to come and the numbers will go up.
