Success Story

Rachapalli is a small sleepy village about 15 Kms away from Hindupur town. The Rachapalli is a small sleepy village about 15 Kms away from Hindupur town. The village has about 1200 families i.e. about 6000 people. It doesnt have health clinic and the villagers have to walk till Lepakshi for meeting traditional doctors. The situation turns grim in times of emergency or pregnancy. A private bus travels to the village twice in a day.

A Medical camp was conducted on 10th April, 2009 by requesting the doctors from Hindupur General Hospital and other private doctors. Dr. Lokendranath, Dr. Padmavathi, Dr. Siva Kumara Swamy have participated in the camp. They have educated the villagers on healthy and hygienic lifestyle and preventive measures. About 250 people mostly aged women, children, pregnant women, elderly persons were checked up in the camp and they were provided with free medicines.

Now the people of Rachapalli have a store of medicines kept at the local SHG president and they practice simple preventive measures to avoid mosquito bite fever, cough and cold, drinking clean water that keep many of the diseases at bay. Hence their trips to traditional doctors reduced, while they productively spend their time earning thereby keeping more income at their disposal.
