Success Story

Debaki comes from a very poor family and did not get opportunity to visit a zoo, which is situated in Kolkata city. Debaki comes from a very poor family and did not get opportunity to visit a zoo, which is situated in Kolkata city. She never had seen living animals like elephant, hippomotamus, crocodile, lions, tiger, giraffe, panther, rhino, and various kinds of birds and animals. She had only read about them in books. Like many other poor children of the village Debaki had never visited Kolkata city before our intervention though it is only 50 K.M. away from her village as her parents could not afford the expenditure.

We arranged a trip to Kolkata Zoo on 27/12/2002 for her and 24 other children. We feel that children can get better mental development through an interaction with nature and animals.

After seeing the animals she became over whelmed, got immense pleasure and acquired knowledge. She saw multistoried building for the first time in her life.
