Success Story

Durga (name changed) was in love with her class mate. Durga (name changed) was in love with her class mate. Her family members rejected their love and suggested to complete their studies first. They stopped the girl from going to school and arranged for home tuitions. At 14 years of age, she escaped with her lover. They reached Hyderabad and spent four months and left for Mumbai as her lover deceived her that he had a job at Mumbai. He kept her in an unknown house and stated that he will return soon. Next day the owner of the house came and insisted that she sleep with a customer. When Durga refused she was told that her lover had sold her for Rs.25000. She was raped every day by strangers.

After one & half years, she was rescued by the police during their raids. She was produced before the Child Welfare committee of Mumbai and they transferred the girl to HELP home for counseling, home investigation and rehabilitation.

She was very scared and could not talk to anybody. She intended to go Mumbai again as she thought that her family would not accept her. After frequent counseling sessions she reached a normal position and gave-up her habits. Now she is mingling with other mates in the home. She is trained in tailoring and embroidery etc. and developed cultural skills like songs, street plays on the issues of children. Now she is very confident and is eager to put her efforts to prevent other girl children from entering into this vicious circle. She would like to start tailoring and embroidery centre and like to train other vulnerable girls.
