 Poor Women of village Sampatchak were not aware of the benefits of Group Formation
Poor Women of village Sampatchak were not aware of the benefits of Group Formation. This landed them into the cruel grip of money lenders. The money lenders were charging them very high interest rate. They did not have saving habits. Our organization intervened in the area and organized several formal and non formal meetings and contacts with the women of Sampatchak villages and formed Parwati Mahila Group.

| Our resource persons trained the group on maintenance of books of account, loan register, minutes book writing, procedure for opening of Bank accounts, obtaining financial supports etc. They discussed issues like grading of Groups, increasing savings, education to their children, benefit of Anganwadis, immunization and starting of income generation activities with the support from the financial institution. |

| The efforts made by the DOST has yielded better results Our field workers often participate in the Group meetings and guide them suitably for followup. Secretary monitors the functioning of SHGs atleast once in a month. They have inculcated saving habits. They have developed inter loaning from the funds accumulated from their contribution for treatment of their children, school fee and uniform etc. Borrowing money from the money lenders is minimized. |
