Her anxieties over this absolute dependency were interfering with her ability to get the most out of the activities offered. She also had too much free time even with everything happening around her, making her agitated and irritable.

Sunita joined the Kria Glass Mosaic Income Generation Program. She began earning a daily stipend for her work making mosaic coasters and trays. She saved at least half of her stipend each month. She also found the mosaic work to be a productive and creative use of her free time.

Sunita has saved Rs 2,000 which makes her feel she is accomplishing something towards her future. She also is able to buy her own meal on occasion, lessening her sense of dependency and reducing her anxiety significantly. The creative outlet has allowed her to explore herself. And the constructive use of time has reduced her arguments with the other girls.
