Success Story

Mahamayee is a 64 year old dalit woman living with her widowed daughter Meenakshi, who has 3 daughters. Meenakshi finds it very difficult to support both her children and mother with the meager income of Rs.1200/- per month through the menial work she does. She is not able to look after her mother well. As a result Mahamayee cannot have even one square meal per day

The staff of the Guard Society met Mahamayee and assessed her situation. She was give groceries for one month along with the medicines she needed to regain her health with the help of the local donors. Guard Society arranged to introduce her to cobblers in their Self Help Group. She now helps them by pasting parts in the making of foot wear.

With the help of Guard Society Mahamayee is able to support her self and get nourishing food. She has regained her self-respect and the people treat her with love and look at her with respect. Now we can see the rays of happiness, contentment and self-confident in her face and life.
