Rupesh is a seven year old boy Rupesh is a seven year old boy. He is a native of Konika Mushari village in Arwal block. He is anemic by birth. He did not go to school, was a baby sitter for his younger siblings and looked after goats. His parents are poor daily wage earners and they hardly manage foods for their children. They have to engage their children in income generation activities. They lack awareness on the importance of education and health for their children

The staff and volunteers of SGVS interacted with the Parents of Rupesh. The staff and volunteers of SGVS and made them understand the importance of health and education for his development. They were invited in a three day training camp at Arwal in October 2008 to make them understand the importance of health and education in their child life

Due to the regular motivation and encouragement by SGVS Rupesh now reads and writes regularly at his home. Rupesh is in Grade 3 in the Primary School in Konika Mushari village. He has also become sensitive towards health and hygiene in his life. Due to good healthy habits his health has also been improving
