Maanvilzhi dropped her schooling at 10th standard Due to the poverty in the family and no interest in education, Maanvilzhi dropped her schooling at 10th standard. Her parents are agricoolies. They never showed interest on her education because they think to encourage Girl child education is an unnecessary family expenditure because they will not gain anything from it. They tried to get her married

We met her during the adolescent girl’s sangam formation. She was more active than others and attracted our attention. We counseled her and found that if she gets motivation and support she will continue her education. We enrolled her in Alpha computer Education Centre at Usilampatti, encouraged her to complete the course.

Now she is working in a printing press at Usilampatti and earns Rs. 3000 per month. Her parents are so happy and they are searching an educated bridegroom. Now she has an ambition that she would like to improve the standard of living of the parents before her marriage.
